Description: This is a challenging and dynamic communications position for PUMA's sophomore entry in the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-2012. The candidate will be directly involved in all aspects of communications planning and global strategy for the PUMA Sailing category and the PUMA Ocean Racing Team. In addition, the candidate will be the embedded with the PUMA Ocean Racing team as the on-site race press officer generating coverage on PUMA's participation in the race, handling all media inquiries, generating media content and managing media events taking place during the race. The planning/strategy work, beginning in November 2010 and extending until November 2011 will be based in Boston, MA, with light travel in between. From November 2011 through July of 2012, this position will be entirely transient and follow the race legs, to 10 ports worldwide. Partner with the Regional Vice President of Operations, Executive Director and community staff to determine and reach identified business goals. Set-up and oversee the pre-marketing function for newly constructed/acquired communities. Jointly responsible for meeting occupancy goals. Prepare, review, and distribute weekly marketing reports to the designated Horizon Bay management personnel and investors.
Review quarterly competitive marketing analysis for each Horizon Bay Senior Communities property and make recommendations for appropriate rent adjustments, to the senior management team. Assist in the development of all collateral materials used as part of the marketing/sales program in all properties. Review and ensure that marketing budgets are appropriate and that allocations are being utilized effectively, maximizing the community opportunity to increase revenues and profitability. Effectively communicate to the Vice President of Sales and the Regional Vice President of Operations, to significant events occurring in respective communities. Provide written trip reports summarizing site visits results and recommendations on a regular basis. Review property leases annually and make appropriate recommendations for revisions.
