PR Grants Awarded to 18 Organizations

STRATFORD, CT. — 01/17/06 — CyberAlert LLC, a worldwide media monitoring, press clipping and broadcast monitoring service, today announced the 18 recipients of its 2006 Public Relations (PR) Grants to Not-for-Profit Organizations. Each grant is for one free year of online news monitoring service using CyberAlert 5.0. The total value of the grants approximates $50,000.

Washington, DC Dedicated to advancing community health and education, focusing on inhalant abuse prevention.
American Association of Suicidology
Washington, DC Dedicated to the understanding and prevention of suicide. Runs national clearinghouse on suicide and suicide lifeline.
Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO)
Washington, DC Represents state and territorial public health agencies dedicated to development and implementation of sound public health policies.
Canada's National History Society
Winnipeg, Manitoba Dedicated to raising awareness of Canadian history.
Destination ImagiNation
Glassboro, NJ Creativity and problem-solving program for school children.
FishAmerica Foundation
Alexandria, VA Provides funding for local hands-on projects to enhance fish populations, restore fisheries habitat, improve water quality and advance fisheries research.
Global Fund for Women
San Francisco, CA Provides grants to women's rights organizations around the world.
International Crisis Group
Washington, DC Dedicated to prevent and resolve deadly conflict. Work focuses on countries at risk of outbreak, escalation or recurrence of violent conflict.
Invest in Kids
Toronto, Ontario Dedicated to strengthening parenting knowledge and skills, helping enable parents of young children become the parents they want and need to be.
It Happened to Alexa Foundation
Lewiston, NY Provides financial and emotional support to victims of sexual assault, paying travel expenses for a support person to accompany the victim to trial and in some cases providing a person to help the victim navigate the legal system.
JA Worldwide (Junior Achievement)
Colorado Springs, CO Dedicated to educating young people about business, economics and entrepreneurship through in-school and after-school programs.
Marine Biological Laboratory
Woods Hole, MA Dedicated to research and education in the biological, biomedical and environmental sciences.
National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (NCADP)
Washington, DC Dedicated to educating the public about capital punishment and to achieving reform at the state level.
National Rural Health Association (NRHA)
Kansas City, MO Dedicated to ensure access, equity and quality in health care to Americans who call rural areas home.
Oklahoma City National Memorial
Oklahoma City, OK Honoring "those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever" by the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City and teaching the impact of violence to children and adults.
Partnership Against Domestic Violence
Atlanta, GA Dedicated to ending domestic violence, educating the public on dynamics of domestic violence and supporting women and their families in their efforts to live violence free.
Relief International
Los Angeles, CA Provides emergency relief, rehabilitation and development assistance to vulnerable communities worldwide.
Safety Magic in Law Enforcement
Scottsdale, AZ Public safety employees volunteer their time to teach children important safety messages they will remember for a lifetime including fire safety, pool safety, gun safety, and other important safety messages.

Over 250 not-for-profit organizations applied to CyberAlert for the PR Grants. The CyberAlert selection process favored national and international organizations with innovative services that benefit the young, the troubled and abused, the environment, justice and scientific research. This year's focus was on women and children.
