Annual PR Grants Awarded to 29 Non-Profit Organizations

Stratford, CT — 11/26/2007 — CyberAlert LLC, a worldwide media monitoring, press clipping and TV news monitoring service, today announced the 29 recipients of its 2008 Public Relations (PR) Grants to Not-for-Profit Organizations. The 29 grants to organizations in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom are the largest number the company has awarded in one year. Each grant is for one free year of online news monitoring service using CyberAlert 5.0.

America's Second Harvest - The Nation's Food Bank Network
Chicago, IL The largest domestic hunger relief organization in the U.S. Secures and distributes food and grocery products to over 200 member food banks feeding over 25 million Americans each year.
Brit Tzedek V'Shalom
Chicago, IL Grassroots advocacy organization working to educate and mobilize support within the Jewish community for a negotiated two-state resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Campaign Finance Institute
Washington, DC Conducts objective research and education, empanels task forces and makes recommendations for policy change in the field of campaign finance at federal and state levels.
Canada 2020
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Develops progressive policy ideas and options for Canadian decision makers through the engagement of Canada's business, political and community leaders.
Canadian Breast Cancer Network
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Provides a national link between 225 partner and member groups that provide patient services and public education on breast cancer.
Canadian Paralympic Committee
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Promotes the social and health benefits of participating in physical activities regardless of physical impairments, empowering persons with physical disabilities through sports.
Caribbean Conservation Corporation
Gainesville, FL Working to ensure survival of sea turtles through research, education, training, advocacy and the protection of the natural habitats upon which they depend.
Children, Incorporated
Richmond, VA Provides clothing, food, school supplies, shelter, and access to medical care to over 17,000 young people at 352 project sites in 24 countries including the United States.
Community Action Partnership
Washington, DC Offers training and technical assistance to the 1,000 Community Action Agencies that are fighting poverty on the local level.
Winston-Salem, NC Provides biking safety information to children and adults. Conducts "bike rodeos" to share safe biking techniques with children. Provides "safe biking" curriculum to schools and youth organizations. Provides low-cost bike safety helmets to children.
Epilepsy Foundation
Landover, MD Works to insure that the 3 million people in the U.S. with epilepsy are able to participate in all life experiences; to improve how people with epilepsy are perceived, accepted and valued in society; and to promote research for a cure.
Gilda's Club Worldwide
New York, NY Advocates for the emotional and social support for anyone touched by cancer through networking groups, lectures, workshops and social events.
Jour de la Terre (Earth Day) Quebec
Montreal, Quebec, Canada National organization dedicated to improving the state of the environment by working through 500 local partner organizations that conduct over 700 activities each year in Quebec.
Keep A Breast Foundation
Oceanside, CA Seeks to increase breast cancer awareness and to eradicate breast cancer by informing young people of methods of prevention, early detection and support.
My Stuff Bags Foundation
Westlake Village, CA Provides duffels filled with new items to children who must enter crisis shelters or foster homes with no personal belongings as a result of abuse or neglect.

Miami, FL International network of 57 NPF-designated medical centers, 49 affiliated chapters and 900 support groups providing research, clinical care and outreach for patients with Parkinson disease and related neurological conditions.
National Prostate Cancer Coalition
Washington, DC Provides resources and education to people affected by prostate cancer; advocates for increased research funding; raises awareness of the importance of early detection and treatment; conducts free prostate cancer screenings for men in underserved communities nationwide.
Save Our Seas Foundation
Geneva, Switzerland and Stockbridge, Hampshire, UK Conducts a wide range of programs aimed at awareness, protection, preservation and conservation of the marine environment around the world.
SERRV International (A Greater Gift)
Madison, WI Alternative trade and development organization provides marketing assistance, product development, grants and loans to assist low-income artisans and farmers in 36 countries to develop the income, skills and tools need to improve their lives.
Special Olympics, Inc.
Washington, DC Dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society. Provides year-round sports training and competition to 2.5 million adults and children with intellectual disabilities across 165 countries.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association
Washington, DC Provides public education programs about sudden cardiac arrest which kills more people in the U.S. than stroke, breast cancer, HIV/AIDS and lung cancer combined, and works toward getting more automated external defibrillators in more public places for use in medical emergencies involving cardiac arrest.
United Nations Association of the U.S.a.
New York, NY Dedicated to building understanding and support of the ideals and work of the United Nations. Conducts educational and humanitarian campaigns including student education programs, clearing minefields, and providing school-based support for children living with HIV/AIDS in Africa.

The award recipients are located in nine different states (MA, NY, MD, VA, NC, FL, IL, WI, CA) the District of Columbia, two Canadian provinces (Quebec, Ontario), and two countries in Europe (Switzerland, United Kingdom).

The total retail value of this year's grants exceeds $75,000. Since starting the PR Grants program in 2004, CyberAlert has awarded a total of 102 grants with a retail value of more than $250,000.

In announcing the award recipients, William J. Comcowich, president and CEO of CyberAlert stated: "As I personally reviewed the grant applications, I was inspired by the amazing work being done by not-for-profit organizations and their volunteers. Over 300 not-for-profit organizations applied to CyberAlert for the PR Grants. "The grant applications reflect the recognition among non-profit organizations of the value and benefits of utilizing media monitoring services and we're delighted to be able to increase the number of grants awarded this year," stated William J. Comcowich, president and CEO of CyberAlert.

The CyberAlert selection process favored national and international organizations with innovative services that benefit the young, the disadvantaged, the ill and disabled, the environment, and better government. It also favored organizations with plans to utilize the monitoring service and resulting news clips in innovative ways.
